Stone Tiles

Our natural stone tiles options include granite, marble, travertine, limestone, and slate. Because these gorgeous materials are natural stone, they have amazing variations in their colors and patterns. They also vary in how porous they are, and they’re not always suitable for all applications.

Our knowledgeable team will help you choose the right stone tile for your project!

Ceramic Tiles

Ceramic tiles are manufactured by combining clay with sand and other natural materials and firing it in a kiln. When combined with glazing and other treatments, the results are wide-ranging and spectacular!

Red terracotta is one of the most popular ceramic tile colors, but all the colors of the rainbow are available! Some styles are uniform in color, while others contain swirls and other variations. Ceramic tile is designed for indoor use only.

Porcelain Tiles

Porcelain and ceramic tiles are made the same way — clay is molded and fired in a kiln — but porcelain tile uses a denser clay that’s fired for a longer period of time. The result is a more durable tile that’s ideal for high-traffic areas in your home or business. Porcelain is durable enough to be used outdoors, but it’s important to make sure you use tile that’s able to withstand freezing and thawing.

Many porcelain tiles are gray or white, but by using different materials and glazes, any color is possible. Depending on the type of tile you choose, you may see very little color variation or quite a bit. Some porcelain tiles are made to resemble natural stone. Overall, porcelain tile is a great choice for your home or business.

Glass Tiles

For centuries, builders and artists have used glass tiles to create amazing mosaics and patterns. Glass tiles are available in a wide variety of colors, styles, sizes, and finishes, and you’ll find a delightful selection when you visit Gaumats International, LLC.

  • Smalti — These are smaller tiles that are often textured and colorful.
  • Fused — Fused tiles are made by firing them in a furnace and adding color to the underside.
  • Sintered — The glass powder is pressed into dies and fired to fuse the particles. Different colors are achieved by adding color before or after the firing process.
  • Cast — Pieces of glass are placed in a mold and heated until they melt and become a single piece.
When you choose glass tiles, you have two popular treatments available
  • Slumped — The glass has a textured finish because it has been melted into molds with relief textures in them.
  • Etched — A thin, translucent layer is applied to the surface of the tile and treated to give it a cloudy or matte finish. The etching can be damaged, so we recommend that these tiles be used for wall applications rather than areas where people will walk on them.

Step 2 - Make Your Selection

From our affordable “group one” granite line to exotic granite, quartzite, marble, and quartz slabs, our inventory includes a huge range of colors for any style. Explore our expansive showroom and marvel at edge profiles, granite & quartz tops, tile installations, and plumbing fixtures. Additional selections are available via our local suppliers. Upon approving your selection and estimate, the process begins.

Step 3 - Laser Precision

The superior laser technologies enhance our templating process. Our technician applies an LT55 templating system to create an accurate template of your cabinets. The intricate details like overhangs, radiuses, and cutouts receive careful attention. The data then goes to our programmer to instruct the CNC waterjet saw, and for materials with flow or veining, we use Slabsmith Perfect Match to visualize your countertops on a computer.

Step 4 - Expert Fabrication

Our cutting-edge machinery ensures flawless cuts and consistent edging. Using our WaterJet Saw for straight cuts and smaller, intricate cutouts, we then move to the CNC router and edging machines for shaping. Artisan fabricators, using polishers and diamond grit pads, finish any remaining edge profiles, enhancing the stone's shine.

Step 5 - Professional Installation

Our dedicated crew place great emphasis on meticulous installation. Completion times may vary, but the integrity remains unchanged. Post-installation, they ensure a clean workspace and conduct a final walk-through with you for total satisfaction.

Despite granite’s durability, it’s not invincible. Its resistance to bending and twisting can cause cracks if improperly handled, hence professional handling is imperative. However, with Gaumats International, LLC, your new countertops come with peace of mind; we seal your stone surfaces with a seven-year guarantee and a lifetime workmanship warranty!
