Excellence Since 2005

“Created by Nature, Perfected by Gaumats!”

Gaumats International, LLC was formed in 2005 by Apul and his wife Daisy Gaumat. Apul’s knowledge of granite and marble comes from his family-owned quarries and processing plants located in India. When Apul started Gaumats International, LLC, several fabrication companies were doing similar work, but Apul wanted to do things differently by providing a better customer experience. He imported premium quality granite slabs and hired artisans fabricators.

Then to Now

In 2005, Gaumats International, LLC started in a 2,600-square-foot building but shortly after grew out of that facility. We’re currently located in a custom-built 10,000-square-foot building with a 2,000-square-foot showroom space.

Our Facilities

Our warehouses have beautiful slabs from around the world, and each job is custom fabricated in a state of the art fabrication facility.

Fabrication

The fabrication is completed by sophisticated state of the art machinery for precision and accuracy. Once the stone has been cut, our specialized artisans provide the finishing touches to get the product ready for installation.

OUR REFINED PROCESS

Welcome to the art and science of granite and marble craftsmanship. At the heart of our mission lies a commitment to transforming your spaces with the enduring beauty of natural stone. We are more than just a service; we are collaborators in your construction and remodeling ventures.

Step 1 - Open Invitation

Whether you visit our captivating showroom or schedule a home visit, we welcome you. Together, we dive into the project and create a comprehensive estimate.

A majority of our business is referrals; if that is how you discovered us, we encourage you to inquire about who they worked with and book an appointment.

Step 2 - Make Your Choice

From our affordable “group one” granite line to exotic granite, quartzite, marble, and quartz slabs, our inventory includes a huge range of colors for any style. Explore our expansive showroom and marvel at edge profiles, granite & quartz tops, tile installations, and plumbing fixtures. Additional selections are available via our local suppliers. Upon approving your selection and estimate, the process begins.

Step 3 - Laser Precision

The superior laser technologies enhance our templating process. Our technician applies an LT55 templating system to create an accurate template of your cabinets. The intricate details like overhangs, radiuses, and cutouts receive careful attention. The data then goes to our programmer to instruct the CNC waterjet saw, and for materials with flow or veining, we use Slabsmith Perfect Match to visualize your countertops on a computer.

Step 4 - Expert Fabrication

Our cutting-edge machinery ensures flawless cuts and consistent edging. Using our WaterJet Saw for straight cuts and smaller, intricate cutouts, we then move to the CNC router and edging machines for shaping. Artisan fabricators, using polishers and diamond grit pads, finish any remaining edge profiles, enhancing the stone’s shine.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Granite?

The term “granite” is used to cover a group of related stones, all of which have their origin deep in the earth’s molten mantle. As this extremely hot liquid material rises and cools, it forms a crystalline, granular structure, hence the term granite. Granite and other granite-like stones are formed of very hard minerals such as quarts, feldspar and mica, which are fused together into a very hard stone ideal for kitchen countertops because its polish is resistant to acids such as citrus and vinegar and is hard for resisting scratching from knives, pots and pans.

Granite is commonly used for countertops as well as for floor tiles, wall tiles, other surfaces such as fireplaces, columns, balustrades, water tables, steps, thresholds & windowsills. It’s much harder then marble and can be used practicly for anything in your home or business.

Why Are Granite Countertops a Superior Choice for the Kitchen?

Because granite is a very hard stone that’s formed at very high temperatures deep in the earth, its polish is not subject to etching by household acids, or scratching by knives, pots and pans. It’s unaffected by typical kitchen heat, such as hot pans, or spilled liquid.

Can Granite Countertops Be Damaged?

Like any solid surface, high impact blows can harm custom granite countertops. Because of its crystalline structure, it can chip if subjected to sharp hard objects. Unsealed, granite countertops can absorb stains such as oil, which can ultimately cause dark spots or discoloration. Heat from pots and pans or burning liquids will not affect granite countertops under normal circumstances.

What Is Flamed Granite?

Granite is flamed by applying blowtorch-strength heat to the surface of the stone. This causes the surface to melt and some of the crystals to shatter, leaving a highly textured surface which is ideal for exterior paving or wet areas for non-slipperiness.

What Is Honed Granite?

Granite is called “honed” when the polishing process is halted just before a reflective shiny surface is achieved. This gives a softer, matte appearance to the stone.

Can I Cut on My Granite Countertop?

Yes. However, granite is harder than your knife blades and will dull them quickly, if you use the countertop as a cutting surface. Also, if you do not seal your countertop as required (at least once a year; every 90 days for heavy usage), you could potentially stain them. NEVER CHOP on your countertop. While it is unlikely you will damage your granite countertops, it is possible. It’s a reliable routine to always chop on a wooden or plastic cutting board.
