Stone slabs come from all over the globe. The top three exporters of stone are India, Brazil, & Italy. Stone is quarried from the earth in large blocks. The blocks are then cut into slabs by a gang saw. This can take days depending on the stone. Then the individual slabs are sent through a line polisher that can polish, brush, or hone the slabs to get the desired finish. Once the slabs are treated and finished they are bundled and packed into a container. Those containers then get shipped off to the US and all over the world.
